Hook of the Day - Anthrax "Black Lodge"

by Wayne Graham

Anyone who knows their thrash metal will obviously give Anthrax their due. Legendary band. Among the Living is one of the cornerstones of a respectable 80's thrash collection.

But I know I'm not alone when I claim that my favorite album of the band's career is 1993's Sound of White Noise. Recorded after vocalist Joey Belladonna left the group and was replaced by Armoured Saint singer John Bush. If you haven't heard it---do it, and do it soon. From that album, here's "Black Lodge."

John Bush Anthrax is the only Anthrax I can stand. Does that make me weird? I hated when they delved into rap metal...

So very good call on posting this rather than "I'm The Man"!

I definitely have a fondness for Belladonna-era 'thrax. No loss of love, there. (althought, some of their goofier fare like "I'm the Man" leaves me cold). But Sounds of White Noise is such a strong album...i always listen to that one more.

So you're saying it does make me weird. Ok, I can live with that. Hahahaha...

Hahahahahaaa...no, no. Not sayin' that at all. Just a big "Among the Living" fan, m'self.

Odd that they didn't seem to even try to bring Bush back into the fold once Belladonna fell back out. Guess he didn't wanna get burned again.
