According to Rolling Stone, rumors are heavy that the second album from The Raconteurs could hit stores as early as NEXT WEEK! The ball got rollin' when a record store employee commenter on a Radiohead messageboard passed along word that their boss heard from some guy at Warner Brothers that Jack White strolled into their office with the masters of the new record and requested an immediate release. Click on the link above and you'll see the sleuthing efforts to this point. So far it's a little "I know a guy who knows a kid who did the nails for some girl who met Jack White", but given the success of recent Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails release-when-done albums, it's not unthinkable.
I sincerely hope this is a trend that catches on.
