New My Morning Jacket track available for download!!!

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!! Kentucky rockabouts My Morning Jacket have made the title track from their upcoming album Evil Urges available at this location. (password is "urges101") Between this great track and the songs they've been playing live, it looks like it's business as usual for MMJ....if by "business" you mean pushing and pulling on their Space Age Southern Americana in all kinds of interesting ways. Evil Urges is out on June 10th from ATO Records.

In other MMJ news, they'll be hitting the Saturday Night Live stage on Saturday, May 10th on NBC. The host is....awww...who cares? MMJ is going to be on!!

The June 10th release of Evil Urges--the latest effort from the peerless My Morning Jacket--can't get here fast enough. The band played a whopping EIGHT songs from the album at their gig with Yo La Tengo in Houston on March 10th, and "eggs" from Breakfast on Tour was kind enough to tape and post them. There are few bands I love more than My Morning Jacket. I could elaborate on why, but that would just waste time that you could spend enjoying this clip of the guys getting all dolled up with the Boston Pops and knocking out yet another audience (this time a David Letterman studio crowd). If this band is playing anywhere near you anytime, do yourself a favor and check them out. So worth your time it's not even funny. This clip aired probably sometime in 2006. Enjoy!
