Thanks to Invisible Oranges for reminding us that Sunday marked the 25th Anniversary of Dio's classic Holy Diver album.
Killswitch Engage, of course, has had some success lately with their cover of that album's title track, with mixed results, if you ask me. Overall, it's a noble effort ,and the video is fantastic. The riffs are there, and the clean vocals sound pretty good, but the screams just don't work for me. (Someone needs to tell these guys that they're not obligated to do both clean and screams in each song) Plus, I'm not entirely on the same page with drummer Justin Foley's work on this. There's something about his playing that destroys any momentum the rest of the band is able to build up.
So, yeah, Dio can't be touched, is what I'm getting at here.
